Anambra 2021: Security, My Top Priority – Onyemelukwe
Mrs Chidi Onyemelukwe, an aspirant in the Nov. 6 governorship election in Anambra says security of lives and property would be top in her agenda if she wins the contest.
Onyemelukwe who is jostling for the ticket of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has this at a reception organised for Mr Peter Obi, 2019 vice-presidential candidate of the party in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Area on Wednesday.
The aspirant who is the first of Dr Alex Ekwueme, former vice president of Nigeria decried the rising insecurity across Anambra and several parts of Nigeria adding that the trends were worrisome.
According to her, “security for me, will be a top priority; if given the opportunity, our administration shall implement fully, the government’s responsibility to protect life, property, economy, institutions, community and environment in Anambra.
“We will make Anambra fiscally secure and solvent once again by ensuring that we provide businesses with the enabling environment to thrive.
“Part of my compact with Ndi Anambra is to restore the state to greatness and glory by orchestrating an industrial revolution building on existing facilities and competencies in the Onitsha-Nnewi-Awka Industrial Axis,” she said.
Onyemelukwe urged party faithful to support her aspiration and vote massively for her at the primary election while assuring that she would lead the party to victory in the election proper.
Onyemelukwe served as a Special Assistant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and was the Chairman, Board of Directors, Federal Housing Authority.
