44 Companies Get SON MANCAP Certificates In Anambra
The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has issued 107 Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP).certificates to 44 companies Anambra.
The certificates were issued at the Anambra Office 1, Awka of the Organization for new products, recertification of products and some imported items..
Dr Ifeanyi Okeke, the Director General, Chief Executive, SON who gave the certificates to deserving companies said it was a celebration of companies which successfully passed the quality processes and specification for producing quality products.
Okeke, who was represented by Mr Chinedu Agafie, Director of Anambra Regional Operations said certification of locally manufactured products ensured products complied with standards and promoted quality awareness in production of goods and services.
He said it also provides records for identification and traceability of products, with good basis for domestic competitiveness as well as promote trade and investment at the international level.
He said manufacturers’ contributions to the Nigerian economy were imperative and that the only way you could be relevant and also make profit was to endeavour to sustain good manufacturing practice and production of quality products and services.
Okeke said Federal Government through regulatory framework would continue to support manufacturers in order to continue to enjoy their employment, revenue and corporate social responsibility benefits.
“Congratulations as we present 44 companies with 107 products the prestigious MANCAP certificates and Logos, we strongly advise you to comply with the conditions stipulated for your certification.
“As manufacturers in a very competitive business climate, we admonish you to sustain and improve on your activities of standardisation and quality assurance by imbibing the culture of quality which can guarantee profitability.
“Quality is critical to customers’ satisfaction which in turn ensures continuous patronage and resultant increase in services, output and profitability, if you do not deliver quality products, they will quickly look for alternatives.
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, for providing the enabling environment that promotes business activities in the state,” he said.
Earlier in his address of welcome, Mr Emmanuel Husseni the State Coordinator, Anambra State Office 1. congratulatied the recipients for meeting the diligent approval processes and qualifying for the certificates.
Husseni said SON hutgedvtgrm not to take their certification for granted but continue to maintain the standard that earned them the approvals.
In a response, Mrs Christiana Nwaele, Managing Director of Sylflora Industries and Farms commended SON for increasing the credibility of local products through regulation.
