Insecurity: Anambra People Now Live In Exile, We Need Change… Nwosu

Mr John Nwosu, a top aspirant in the November 2025 governorship election in Anambra says the state has failed under the watch of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

Nwosu, a tech expert said the wanton and unabated violence, rampant killings and kidnappings of citizens, residents and visitors in recent time are unfortunate signs of failure and no longer acceptable.

He said statistics indicated a drastic drop in the number of persons returning to Anambra for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 new year festivities regretting that most of the people now lived in exile.

“Since I declared my interest to run for the Anambra governorship in 2025, I have repeatedly flagged insecurity as the overarching challenge in the state.

“The Soludo’s administration has failed to meet its statutory responsibility to protect citizens of Anambra. visitors, indigenes, non-indigenes returnees and diasporans.

“It is clear to all that insecurity is the major bane in Anambra,” he said.

Nwosu said it was clear that Soludo had failed in articulating what ought to be priorities for Anambra and that such a faulty disposition was unacceptable on every count.

He said state security was a 24/7 project which required a firm commitment and allocation of the required resources, personnel, equipment and wondered why Soludo would schedule war against insecurity as if it was a social event.

“It is most embarrassing that an eminent Anambra prelate is still missing and on Christmas Eve an incumbent member of the Anambra State Assembly representing Onitsha North was kidnapped.

“Certainly, Anambra people can’t afford to continue supporting a governor who schedules security interventions as if he is scheduling a social appointment.

“For some inexplicable reasons, this government says it had mapped out ameliorative measures for tackling insecurity in the state which it would put in place beginning in January 2025.

“This seems to be a case of putting the cart before the horse,” he said.

Nwosu said the present Anambra state government would not be allowed to mortgage the security of the State and people.

According to him, we can not be in exile from our homeland, change is needed.
