Egwuonwu Sympathises With Victims Of Nnewi Market Inferno
Chief Akai Egwuonwu, a chieftain of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has sent heartfelt condolences to the victims of the early morning fire which gutted the Afia Mgbede market, opposite in Nnewi, Nnewi Local Government of Anambra State.
The affected market is opposite the popular Agbaedo Motor Parts Market Nnewi.
Egwuonwu, a leading aspirant in the Anambra South Senatorial District bye election who sent his condolences message described the incident as tragic and unfortunate.
He said he received the news with sadness and a heavy heart, adding that the incident was a significant blow to the hard working and industrious entrepreneurs of Nnewi community who were just resuming for the year.
The industrialist said he understood the immense challenges the unfortunate incident poses to the affected persons, , pointing out that Afia Mgbede was a heartbeat of our economic activities.
“Seeing such devastation saddens us all, the fire incident is regrettable.
“I commend the efforts of the brave firefighters and first responders who, despite the risks, responded swiftly, and worked tirelessly to contain the spread of the fire.
Their commitment and resilience minimise the damage and protected lives and property, their effort reminds us of the Igbo proverb and APGA motto which is ‘be your brothers keeper’,” he said.
Egwuonwu said he was deeply committed to the growth of the business community through empowering our Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs),
He called for collective effort towards mitigating their losses and restoring them to normal lives.
According to him, I am confident that we will rise above this challenge stronger than ever.
