Equity Movement Mourns Passage Of Adebanjo, Clark
Equity Movement Turn by Turn , a non partisan[jeg_weather location=”” auto_location=”false” count=”5″ item=”show” political pressure group has described the passage of two of their patrons, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clark as a huge loss.
Equity Movement Turn by Turn in a Statement signed by Chief Gaius and Adekola Joseph, the National Chairman and National Secretary respectively said both elder statesmen lived and died as heroes of good governance, equity and justice.
The group said it drew inspiration the lives and principles of Adebanjo and Clark who did not hold back in speaking truth to power nor relent in their advocacy for egalitarian society and politics that impact on welfare of the masses.
“We, the members of Equity Movement Turn by Turn, wish to express our grief over the loss of our two great patrons, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clark who passed away on Feb. 14 and Feb. 17 at the riped age of 96 and 97 years respectively.
“These two nationalists represent all that we stand for which are good governance, equity, fairness and justice, they were the champions of these principles but it is sad that they did not look to see the society they fought for.
“We join million of Nigerians to mourn their deaths, we are of the opinion that the best way to immortalise them is to work towards the realisation of those principles they were known for in the interest of our country and generations yet unborn,” they said.
Equity Movement Turn by Turn said they were embarking on a 3-day mourning to honour their memories and pray for the repose of the souls of Pa Adebanjo and Chief Clark.
