Anambra Guber: We Will Resist Your Plot To Rig, APGA Chieftain Tells APC Candidate
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) says it will resist any attempt by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the Nov. 8 governorship election in Anambra State.
A Chieftain of APGA, Mr Chinedu Obigwe said this on Sunday while reacting to a the comment “Tinubu has mandated me to deliver Anambra to APC, That I must do” attributed to Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu, candidate of APC.
Obigwe who is the National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, said Ukachukwu was not the spokesman of President Tinubu and not in a position to speak for him.
He wondered why Ukachukwu who could not win a Senatorial election would dream of winning Anambra state in the governorship election.
He dismissed Ukachukwu’s comment as an attempt to take over the job of Bayo Onanuga , the Special Adviser on media to the President or that of his colleague, and Mr Daniel Bwala.
“What Ukachukwu is claiming that the President told him to do is a herculean task.
“He was unable to deliver himself in Anambra South Senatorial election that he contested against ifeanyi Ubah in 2023, so mandating him to deliver Anambra to APC a impossible mission
“I remember vividly that he lost to Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in almost all the 7 local government areas in Anambra South and won only Osumenyi, his home town.
“So even if Mr President told him to deliver Anambra to APC, he is sending him for an impossible mission,” he said.
Obigwe reiterated that Gov. Chukwuma Soludo would defeat Ukachukwu with a wide margin on Nov. 8 and Anambra that electorate would resist any rigging plot with the last drop of their blood.
He said under Soludo Anambra was already connected to the centre and that the issue of anybody taking the state to the centre was needless.
“Anambra electorate will vote for Governor Soludo and defend their vote for the Governor to continue transforming our State to the envy of other States in Nigeria.
.”When President Tinubu visited Anambra, he approved all the requests made by Governor Soludo for the betterment of the State and that is evidenced in the good working relationship between Mr governu and the President.
“As long as the forthcoming Nov. 8th governorship election is concerned, there is no vacancy in Anambra State,” he said.
