Abducted NDLEA Director In Anambra Regains Freedom After 10 Days
Mr Daniel Onyishi, Director of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has regained freedom after 10 days in kidnappers’ custody.
Onyishi was abducted along Winner Road, Awka on June 12.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra who confirmed the freedom of the NDLEA boss on Sunday said he was safe and receiving medical care.
Ikenga said the Police in collaboration with agencies including operatives of the NDLEA successfully carried out the rescue operation after days of intelligence driven search.
“The Anambra State Police Command today confirmed the release of the abducted NDLEA Anambra State Director
“He is in safe custody and receiving medical attention,” he said.
Ikenga said CP Ikioye Orutugu, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra had briefed the Police High Command on the development.
He said the efforts were on to bring the perpetrators to book in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police.
