Soludo’s Visit to Aso Rock Height Of Selfishness, Desperation —APC Group
The Ikemba Front, an APC support group has described the visit of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra to President Bola Tinubu ahead of the Nov. 8 election as an act without honour.
Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front who issued a Statement in Awka on Wednesday accused Soludo of prioritising personal political gain over the collective interest of the people of Anambra.
Awogu said rather than use the opportunity to present the myriad of challenges facing Anambra, the governor decided to trade his party the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and betray its faithful in brazen anti party behaviour.
“There are humongous challenges begging for attention of the Federal Government including insecurity, failed Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, the South-East rail-line project which excluded Anambra, ravaging erosion and many others,
“Rather than present these issues to Mr. President, Gov. Soludo went on a wild goose chase, dropping Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu’s name all through the visit.
“He labored in vain to blackmail APC in Anambra State and its governorship candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu and his running mate, Sen. Dr. Uche Ekwunife,” he said.
Awogu said Soludo was fidgety, desperate and frustrated even though he had boasted that he had no opponent in the governorship race, he kept running cap in hand to Aso-Rock to beg for help.
Ikemba Front claimed that Soludo supported Tinubu’s opponents in the 2023 presidential election and expressed surprise that he was now brazenly wearing cap with the president’s insignia.
“Having gone to trade off the party in Aso-Rock, his few remaining supporters within APGA, should quickly and quietly desert him for anti-party and for selling them out,” he said.
Awogu said Soludo had ran out of ideas as his strategies for the election were fading and failing.
“First, he said Sen. Dr. Uche Ekwunife forged a certificate, he was roundly silenced with facts, secondly claim those in the race were raising fund for their personal use but he not publish his bank as a lecturer .
“If at the time of joining the Central Bank of Nigeria, he had five percent of what Ukachukwu had, the candidate of APC will drop his candidacy but Soludo has not responded to that challe
nge,” he said.
