Anambra Warriors Emerge Champions Of 2025 Beach Soccer League

Anambra Warriors, the Beach Soccer team representing Anambra at the National Beach Soccer League have won the 2025 edition of the competition.
The Anambra team was crowned NBSL champions after a 5-4 penalty shootout victory against the defending champions, Kebbi Fisher Beach Soccer Club in the final game at Jabi Lake, Abuja.
The thrilling encounter ended 3-3 with the Warriors leading 3-1 in the third and final periods but a quick double comeback by Kebbi Fishers stretched the game into extra time and penalties.
Kebbi Fishers were reigning champions of the competition which the new champions were just featuring in the competition for the second time after finishing as second place last season.
Recall that the Warriors had suffered a 6-1 defeat to the same Kebbi Fisher team in the group stage of the tournament.
Individual accolades were awarded to Anambra Warriors players with goalkeeper Segun Bashorun emerging the Best Keeper and Stanley Ekwo emerging the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Gabriel Chinweze, the team captain dedicated the victory to the team’s sponsor, Prof. Victor Madubuko, and his wife, Ifediche.
Chinweze, said the couple were not just the financiers of Beach Soccer in Anambra but the team’s number one supporter.
“We want to dedicate a trophy to them.
“Their belief and support never wavered, and we are happy to reward their faith with this ch
ampionship,” he said
