Bianca: Obigwe Berates
Awka Stakeholders Who Support Ndigwe’s Claim To Stool
Mr Chinedu Obigwe, an aide of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has berated some Awka indigenes for supporting what he considered impersonation activities of Chief Austin Ndigwe as the traditional ruler of Awka.
Obigwe who is the National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum said this on Friday while reacting to a report entitled “Awka Stakeholders Warn Soludo, Affirm Austin Ndigwe as Traditional Ruler”.
Recall that the Soludo led government had discredited a chieftamcy title conferred on Amb. Bianca Ojukwu, the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs by Ndigwe but the stakeholders’ insisted in their rejoinder that he was their authentic traditional ruler.
Obigwe in a Statement described the stakeholders as people who made a failed attempt to support the desecration of igbo’s traditional institution.
He urged the general public to ignore the ‘ranting’ of the Awka stakeholders noting that those behind it were people who pick crumbs from the table of the Ndigwe to feed their insatiable appetite.
He defended the Soludo administration’s which backed Igwe Gibson Nwosu as the traditional ruler of Awka as defense for the rule of law and the best for the peace of Awka Community and the society by extension.
Obigwe said Ndigwe Ndigwe was not the traditional ruler of Awka as he did not pass through any known process of recognised by the fir becoming one and as such could not perform the functions of a traditional ruler.
“To be a traditional ruler of any community, there are laid down procedures and the individual must be recognised by the government.
“Anybody parading himself as a traditional ruler without following the laid down procedures and without government recognition is an undisputed impostor.
“The recognised traditional ruler of Awka is Igwe Gibson Nwosu and any other person parading himself as Awka traditional ruler is dwelling in self deceit.
“Anybody challenging him is fighting the government and the Soludo administration is fully prepared to bring the full weight of the law upon that person,” he said.
Obigwe said it was wrong and condemnable for Bianca to accept a Chieftaincy title from Ndigwe e en though she was eminently qualified for such an honour.
He said the position of government was such honour should be conferred on her by a recognised traditional ruler and not an impostor.
“Bianca has been honoured by many traditional rulers with the Chieftaincy title and those honours did not raise any dust.
The reason that Austin Ndigwe is raising dust is because he is not a recognised traditional ruler in Anambra and what he is doing in Awka is a desecration of igbo’s traditional institution.
