NOC President Hails Super Eagles’ AFCON Bronze Medal Exploit
Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria over their victory against Pharaohs of Egypt which earned them a third place finish and bronze medal at the just concluded AFCON in Morocco.

Tony Nezianya, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NOC made available the congratulatory message quoted Gumel as saying that the victory was a testament to the remarkable evolution of the squad under Coach Eric Chelle
The NOC president said the team had undergone a complete transformation: from Goal-Shy to Clinical, overcoming previous scoring struggles to become a formidable attacking force under Chelle in just one year.
He said Chelle had been able to rebuild the team into a disciplined, respectable side that commanded authority on the pitch.
“The Eagles are now national pride and are once more showing the “never-say-die” Nigerian spirit in the face of elite competition.
“The Super Eagles have once again proven they are a powerhouse of African football, I look forward to the continued evolution of this exciting new era,” he said.
