Soludo Issues Executive Order Stopping Monday Sit-At-Home In Anambra
The government of Anambra has issued an executive order stopping the Monday sit-at-home in the State.
The order was contained in a memo signed by Loveline Mabemena, Secretary of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) on behalf of the Chairman.
The memo entitled “Executive Order on Termination of Monday Sit-At-Home in Anambra State” said it followed from the Executive Council Retreat held on Jan. 21, 2026.
It said that by the directive, any staff both tutorial and non tutorial who failed to attend school or office on Monday would get 20 per cent of their salary or forfeit it entirely.
“I am directed to inform you that the State Government has directed and also as a decision that the protracted Monday sit at home, in Anambra State has been abolished with immediate effect.
“You are to bring the content of this letter to the notice of all staff under you and ensure adequate compliance.
“Please be properly guided as the above is the Executive Decision of the State Government,” it said.
