Soludo Prays For Peace, Progress On Palm Sunday
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, of Anambra on Sunday took part in a solemn Palm Sunday procession at the Light House Chaplaincy in the Government House, Awka.
Soludo was joined by Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Deputy Governor and some top government officials on the solemn religious observation.
The Palm Sunday mass which was presided over by the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Raphael Onyekwelu, began with the traditional blessing of palm fronds, symbolising the “triumphant entry” of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
In his homily, Onyekwelu urged the congregation to emulate the humility of Christ, reminding leaders and citizens alike of the importance of integrity and peace.

In his remark during the service, Soludo said the event was of immense spiritual significance and described it as a “powerful start” to Passion Sunday.
He said the themes of humility and service exemplified by the life of Christ were essential for the progress of Anambra State.
“Palm Sunday reminds us that leadership is a call to selfless service and sacrifice.
“As we enter this Holy Week, we remain committed to building a liveable and prosperous homeland under the guidance of the Almighty,” he said.
Soludo later joined the congregants in a symbolic walk, waving palm fronds.
