Obasi, United Nigeria Airlines Chief Pilot Emerges Female Pilot of the Year
Captain Joan Obasi, the Chief Pilot of United Nigeria Airlines, has emerged the best Female Pilot of the Year.
Obasi received her honours at the 15th Nigeria Aviation Awards and Ministerial Dinner held at the NiGAV Center Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos on April 17.
Obasi emerged as the leading choice in the public poll following her nomination.
Chibuike Uloka the Public Relations Officer of United Nigeria Airlines who disclosed this in a Statement said the recognition of Captain Obasi was a testament to her technical excellence, dedication and leadership.
He said the event brought together industry professionals and stakeholders to celebrate excellence and sustained contributions to safe flight operations within Nigeria.
He said as the Chief Pilot of UNA , Obasi she oversaw flight standards, crew training and operational compliance, a central role in strengthening the safety culture and operational discipline in the company
“The award was received on behalf of Captain Obasi by First Officer Folake Marcetic, as the Chief Pilot is currently overseas for professional training.
Quoting Obasi, Marcetic described the recognition as both a personal milestone and a victory for institutional excellence.
