2nd Term: Soludo Inaugurates New Commissioners, Heads Of MDAs
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has sworn-in 18 new Commissioners And Head Of Agencies Into Office.
The oaths of office and allegiance and swearing-in ceremony was held at the Executive Council Chambers, New Government House, Awka on Monday
Soludo who congratulated them said the new Commissioners were selected from among other qualified six million Anambra people.
He said their appointment was both an honour and a responsibility to deliver on the administration’s mandate.
He tasked them on sacrifice, commitment and dedication as they were critical to realizing the vision of an emerging “African Dubai Taiwan Silicon Valley”.
He said the foundation for the transformation had been laid and must now be built upon with urgency.
“We are now in gear four, let us move with speed,”
“We must keep accelerating to greater heights, and failure is not an option, we must not fail Anambra people,” he said.
The new Commissioners are Mr Patrick Aghamba (Youth Development and Sports Mr Izuchukwu Okafor (Finance), Dr Afam Obidike (Health), Dr Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation) and Prof. Offornze Amucheazi (Lands).
Others are Dr Ben-Chuks Odoemena (Agriculture), Mr Chukwukadibia Okoye (Budget and Economic Planning), Mr Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism), Dr Ekene Ogugua (Education) and Dr Clem Aguiyi (Environment).
Others are Mr Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN(Justice/Attorney-General), Mr Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs), Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources) and Mr Chijioke Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development)
Also inaugurated are Mr Casmir Agummadu (Power), Mr Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure), Mr Eddy Ibuzo (Transport) and Mrs Esther Chinyere Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development).
Heads of Agencies inaugurated were MD, Anambra Road Traffic Agency (ARTMA): Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, MD, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA): Dr. Ossy Onuko, MD, Information Communication Technology (ICT) Agency: Mr. Fred Agbata, MD, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP): Engr. Obi Okonkwo.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated executive council members, the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, expressed profound gratitude to both the state legislature for its swift confirmation process and to Governor Soludo for the privilege to serve.
