Abang who is the Commissioner of Police in Anambra, said this in an interview with news at the Basketball Court of Ekwueme Square, Awka on Tuesday.He said the competition had progressed as programmed in terms of facilities and logistics.
“So far, the games have been wonderful, the events are going on at the various venues as scheduled and there are no hitches.“Our athletes have been well behaved, they have shown good spirit of sportsmanship and positive competition.“It is expected that after these games, Nigeria will have a new breed of champions from the police because the police have been a brewery for world champions in all sports,” he said.
Abang lauded Anambra government for putting up a high level of organisation within a short time, adding that the spillover effect would remain for a long time for the people of the state.Events like Scrabble and Taekwondo, ended in the 10 day Sports Festival for the police which started on Feb. 29
