South East SWAN condoles Rangers over loss of players
The sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), South East has expressed deep condolences with the management, players and fans of Rangers International FC, Enugu over the painful demise of their players, Ifeanyi George (main team) and Emmanuel Ogbu (junior team).
Both players alongside another occupant of the vehicle lost their lives near Abudu, Delta State on Asaba-Benin expressway when their vehicle ran into a stationary truck on their way to Lagos.
Chigozie Chukwuleta, Vice President of SWAN, South East zone in a condolence message expressed the news of the ghastly crash and death of the players as painful considering the excitement they brought to the round leather game.
She said, the loss of both players no doubt has left such a huge shock and surprise to football lovers all over the world including sports writers especially those in the south east region.
“We appreciate the contributions of Ifeanyi George to the game in our domestic league and at the continental scene for his club.
“It is our prayers that their souls to rest in peace and for God to grant their families and Rangers International FC the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“Accept our heart felt condolence,” the Association said.
