Ifeanyi Ubah, 64 others cleared for Anambra FA board, LFC elections
Incumbent chairman, Ifeanyi Ubah and 64 others have emerged successful in the screening exercise organised by 2020 Anambra State Football Association Electoral Committee ahead of elections into the state board and Local Football Committees.
The final screening result released on Friday by Rev. Fr Coach Obinna Dike showed that Ubah and Jude Obikwelu the incumbent Vice Chairman were the sole candidates for their respective positions while the 11 persons were cleared for seven member positions.
These include Joe Amend, Cyprian Amuzie, Ada Edward, Anthony Udennaka, Udu Kingsley, Ralph Emeka, Collins Obiefuna, Adindu Okezie, Philip Udala, Emeka Okeke and veteran journalist Philip Balepo.
A total of 82 aspirants applied to be voted for in the election including 69.
17 of the applicants were disqualified on the basis of being absent or unsuccessful.
Fr Dike who is also the Head of Media Relations of the committee said those with grievances have until July 19 to file their petitions.
According to the election schedule election and swearing of new State FA executive would hold on July 21.
Elections into local football committees would be held at a yet to be announced date after the state board must have been elected and sworn in.
Dike explained that the date may not be hard and fast but it would most certainty hold in July.
