Police Nab Suspect Who Attacked Patrol Team In Anambra
The Police Command in Anambra says it has arrested a member of a gang that attacked a patrol team on Monday.
DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer of the command said this in a statement in Awka.
Ikeng said the suspects who had machetes, charms, and amulets carried the attack at Eke-Awka, a popular market in the capital town.
According to him, three suspects were involved but one was caught.
“Anambra State Police Command arrested one suspect at Eke Awka who attacked a police convoy on patrol.
“The patrol is part of the strategy the Command is using to reclaim the public space and boost confidence among Anambra Citizens and residents alike
“The area has been cordoned and the situation is being monitored,” he said.
Recall that CP Echeng Echeng upon assumption of office on Friday promised to strengthen the security environment in Anambra and called on members of the public to cooperate with the command.
