December: Anambra CP Tells Residents What To Do To Be Safe
The Police Command in Anambra has called on residents of the the state to maintain high level of vigilance as the as Christmas and New Year season approaches.
Mr Echeng Echeng, Commissioner of Police in Anambra gave the security advisory in a Statement issued in Awka on Sunday.
The CP in the Statement signed by DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer in the command said residents report suspicious movement within your environment to the nearest police station as quickly as possible.
He also advised parents and guardians to pay closer attention to activities by their childre it wards.
Echeng also reiterated that hotels in Anambra should submit their guests’ list daily to the nearest divisional Police headquarters while urging hospitals to admit and report anyone with bullet wounds or any related injuries.
“As part of efforts to curtail security challenges and enhance public safety and peace in the state especially during this period of *Ember Month, the CP urges residents alike to be guided by the following security measures;
“Report promptly any suspicious movement within your environment to the nearest police station or call emergency number 112 or command control room number: 07039194332
*Obey the State Government’s directive on ban of tinted vehicles and covered plate number,” he stated.
The CP said members of the public were urged to desist from engaging in jungle justice and to exercise restraint at all times.
According to him, they should endeavor to take any suspect apprehended to the nearest Police Station, as it would afford the Police the opportunity to conduct appropriate investigation and bring culprits to justice.
“We reaffirm the commitment towards consolidating on the gains in crime prevention and restoration of law, order and improving safety and security of lives in the State.
“The CP assures that the Police, the Military and other Security Agencies are firm to contain any security situation which may arise and prevent threats to lives and property in the state,” he said.
