Petrol Tanker Fire Guts Filling Station In Onitsha
Fire outbreak from pettol tanker explosion on Sunday gutted a filling station near Bormeo roundabout.in the commercial town of Onitsha, Anambra.
Source said a tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) waiting to discharge its content at the station exploded and burst into flames.
The source said men of the Anambra State Fire Service could not arrive the scene on time because of heavy traffic on Awka Road in the town.
It said the inferno burnt valuables including vehicles.
Confirming the incident, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra said personnel attached to Inland Town divisional headquarters, Onitsha had arrived at the scene and codorned it off to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage to loot.
