Police Neutralise Sit@Home Enforcers In Anambra
No fewer than two persons allegedly enforcing the sit-at -home order in Anambra were on Monday killed in a gun duel with Policemen.
DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra who disclosed this in a Statement said they were killed in Umunze Orumba South Local Government Area.
Ikenga said the hoodlums were obstructing the movement of lawful road users going about their businesses.
He said they also forcefully collected motorcycles and tricycles, chased away the passengers and set the automobile ablaze.
According to him, the Anambra command operatives on crime prevention patrol in the early hours of today, May 16 along Umunze road engaged armed gunmen allegedly enforcing sit – at – home in Anambra.
“The Operatives neutralised two of the miscreants and recovered a white Toyota Hiace Bus with no reg nos.
“Meanwhile, the Command has intensified patrol within the state and the situation is being monitored,” he stated.
It would be recalled that the Idemili North Local Government Secretariat including the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company office within was razed by unknown assailants in the early hours of Monday with destruction of property.
