Rojenny Proprietor Urges Iloenyosi To Unify Anambra Football Family For Progress
Rommy Ezeonwuka, Managing Director of Rojenny Stadium and Games Village, Oba, near Onitsha has called on Chikelue Iloenyosi,the new chairman of Anambra State Football Association (AnSFA) to restore the glory of the state in football.
Ezeonwuka who spoke to journalists Awka congratulated Iloenyosi on his recognition as winner of AnSFA election held on Oct. 30, 2020.
The foremost sports facility investor said the emergence of Iloenyosi, a former international footballer, had put to an end the protracted crisis that had bedeviled the football administration in the state and hindered progress.
“I want to join lovers of sports and football in particular in Anambra to congratulate Chikelue Iloenyosi on his assumption as chairman of Anambra State Football Association.
“It is a good omen, it signals the end to a long period of crisis that has done Anambra football and thousands of youths no good, I call on him to reconcile everyone and also hit the ground running.
“He should work with facility owners like myself, club owners, academy owners and the State government to restore the glory of Anambra in Nigeria football,” he said.
Ezeonwuka called on the new AnSFA chairman to take advantage of Rojenny Stadium which is located between the industrial town of Nnewi and Commercial town of Onitsha and had served Nigeria and Africa for decades.
He said the management of the stadium was ready to partner with the FA in promoting football and other sports adding that its doors were open to hosting association football.
“Iloenyosi was a footballer and has been in administration for some years, I am sure he knows the roles Rojenny Stadium has played in Nigeria football, like serving as camp for Japan ’93 U17 team, hosting NPFL and CAF matches.
“We are open to working with the FA, and by this, we are extending hands of partnership to him and members of his team,” he said.
