APGA Nat’l Chairman Declares 3-day Prayer, Fasting for ANHoA Over Deaths

Dr Victor Oye, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on all members of the party in Nigeria and Diaspora to pray fervently for the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Oye made the call in a Statement on Thursday following the sudden death of Dr Nnamdi Okafor, the Majority Leader of Anambra House of Assembly in South Africa where was on an official function.
Okafor who was representing Awka South 1 State Constituency died on Aug. 23 about two months after Okechukwu Okoye, member representing Aguata Constituency 1 was abducted and subsequently murdered by beheading.
Oye who expressed awe over the sad development said they should pray for God’s mercy to stem the hand of death that had struck the House of Assembly resulting to the death of two members within three months.
“I urge people of Anambra and APGA members particularly to embark on a 3-day fasting and prayer for peace, growth and development in the House and in the party as 2023 draw near.
“The times in which we have found ourselves are perilous and call for constant prayer, self-examination and penance.
“The leadership of the Anambra State House of Assembly should join in the prayer and fasting, I see God doing something new in the House soon,” he said.
Oye commiserated with Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, the Speaker of the House,and all the members of the House on the sudden death of the Majority Leader.
He prayed God to console Okafor’s immediate family, people of Awka South 1 Constituency and grant the soul of the deceased eternal repose in heaven.
