Ten Budding Football Stars Set For FC Bayern Youth Cup In Germany
No fewer than 10 young football stars selected across Nigeria are set to depart Nigeria for the finals of FC Bayern Munich World Youth Cup Tournament.
Emeka Okeke, Founder of Aspire FC sponsors of the team told journalists in Awka on Sunday that the competition is scheduled for Munich, Germany on Oct 15 2022.
The players were selected from the 4-day national championship organised by Aspire FC, an Anambra based amateur clubside in collaboration with FC Bayern Academy.
Former German Machine defender and World Cup winner Hans Pfluiger and FC Bayern World Squad Coach, Christopher Loch were in Nigeria to conduct the selection exercise at the Awka Township Stadium.
Okeke said the team would jet out of Nigeria on Oct. 11 to represent Nigeria at the world tournament.
He said the duo of Mbezue Nzube and Chidera Nnadi accompanied by three officials would join the team from Anambra.
“Recall that in May this year, Aspire FC hosted the FC Bayern Munich National Youth tournament where 10 players were selected to represent Nigeria at the World championship.
“We are pleased to announced that the team would depart for Germany to participate at the World Youth Championship scheduled for Germany on Oct. 15.
“Two players were selected from Anambra and they will be joined by theee officials.” he said.
