All Set For Atiku/Okowa Campaign Kick Off In Anambra Says PDP Presidential Campaign Council
The PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra says all is set for the kick off the Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa campaign train in the State.
Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra said this st a pre rally news conference on Wednesday.
Okonkwo who said the advance team of the campaign train was already in Anambra said the presidential candidate and his running mate were expected in the state at about 10 am Thursday.
He said the rally would be preceded by a courtesy call on Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, an interaction with Anambra traditional rulers and a non-partisan town hall meeting with stakeholders.
He said mobilisation had been done for optimal turn out at the Alex Ekwueme Square.
He described the Southeast as a strong base of the PDP with 95 percent of its lawmakers representing in the National Assembly.
He called on the people of Southeast to vote for PDP candidates at all levels and ensure maximum victory for the party.
“Igbo people cannot look away from the PDP now and we should give 90 percent of our votes to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and our brother Okowa.
“No matter what is in the public domain on the rift, the PDP is on ground from top to bottom,” he said.
In his remark, Sen. Ndi Obi, chairman of the campaign committee in Anambra said efforts were in yop gear to reconcile the Gov. Nyesom Wike led G-5 with the party.
Obi said it was common to have rift in any political setting, noting that a committee was meditating between the party and the candidate as they were still open to negotiations.
“It is a common practice to have a rift in politics. We have already constituted a committee to resolve the issue between Atiku and G-5 governors. The reconciliation issue is ongoing but it’s not for public consumption,” he said.
