Onyedum, Anambra Sports Boss Tasks Associations On Sports Development
Patrick-Estate Onyedum, chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission has called on all associations in the state to promote and develop their various sporting events.
Onyedum said this when he received technical officials of Anambra Athletics Association (AAA) who presented with laurels won at Clims Southeast Junior Athletics Championship in Enugu.
He commended the athletics association in Anambra for excelling st the championship and urged the coaches to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the sports and Anambra youth.
The chairman called on other associations to take their games seriously and embark on grassroots based development initiative while assuring that the commission would support them as necessary.
Johnny Igboka, Chief Coach of Anambra State athletics team and technical director of AAA who made the presentation said the State emerged champions in the 2021 edition of the championship which hrld at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Soorts complex.
He said Onyedum was honoured his capacity as the chairman of AAA and Chairman of the Anambra Doorts Development Commission
Igboka said Onyedum had made immense contribution to growth and development of athletics in the Southeast and was adjudged the best performing chairman in the zone by the organisers.
Igboka presented the chairman with teo plaques which were fir himself and the state respectively.
The brief ceremony also had Faith Okwonna, a director in the commission and Eugene Ifediora, secretary of AAA in attendance.
