Anambra Gov’t Directs Residents To Procure Waste Bins Or Face Sanctions
The Government of Anambra has urged every household in the state to procure waste collection containers in their homes within 45 days with effect from April 20, 2023.
Dr Felix Odimegwu, Commissioner for Environment in Anambra said this in a Statement obtained on Friday.
He said the directive was in line with the efforts to achieve and sustain a Clean and Green Anambra.
He said market stall, schools, motor parks, hotels, factories and other public facilities should also endeavour to procure waste bins before the expiration of the deadline.
Odimegwu said defaulters would be sanctioned and still be made to procure the waste collection containers at government instance.
“The have the opportunity to procure waste bin between now and the next 45 days, defaulters will be penalised and still be made to buy them.
“Keeping Anambra Clean is everybody’s responsibility,” he said.
