School Mgr Appreciates Anambra Gov’t On Facility Upgrade In Community
Rev Fr Dennis Nwabueze, the manager of St Michael Secondary School, Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of has commended the State government for assisting in upgrade of its sports facility.
Nwabueze said this during the commencement of work at the site on Tuesday
The arena is home ground to All Sports Foundation Nimo.
He said the facility would complement efforts of the school in molding the complete child through a perfect blend of academics and sports.
“We, the family of St Michael Secondary School thank God for work that started today on our field to make it more beautiful and create a better layout for our tracks.
“This is product of the visit by Patrick-Estate Onyedum, chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission and his team who promised to assist us.
“After this stage, we hope to plant grass, mark the areas for various sports, so a lot still needs to be done and we need more assistance,” he said.
Nwabueze said managers and proprietors of schools should endeavour to strike a balance between sports and academics among their students.
He said it would serve both students of the school and those in the entire Njikoka Local Government Area and neighbouring communities.
Also speaking, Johnny Igboka, a national athletics coach and proprietor of All Sports Foundation said the Academy was excited with the facelift.
Igboka said the ground would serve as a venue for the preliminary stage of the ongoing Anambra School Sports Festival as well as a breeding ground for future sporting greats.
