EEDC Appeals For Calm Over Outage In Awka
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has expressed regrets over the power outage that threw Awka, the capital town of Anambra and environ into darkness for two days.
Our reporter gathered that electricity customers in Awka had been out of supply since Monday night.
EEDC in a Statement signed by Emeka Ezeh, Head, Corporate Communications appealed to its numerous customers affected by the outage to exercise patience.
Ezeh blamed the outage on loss of supply from its source of power at the Transmission Company of Nigeria Station, Onitsha Wednesday evening.
He assured that TCN engineers were already patrolling the lines to ascertain the cause of the power outage.
According to him, the power outage currently being experienced is due to loss of supply from its source of power at the Transmission Company of Nigeria Station, Onitsha
“As a result of this development, all feeders under EEDC Awka district are out of power supply.
“We therefore apologise to our esteemed customers in Awka and appeal for their patience and understanding.
“We are on standby, hoping that the issue is resolved and power restored within the shortest time possible.
