Police Busts Gun Running Syndicate, Recover 23 Automatic Pump Action Guns In Anambra
The Police in Anambra have arrested a major arms dealer illegally dealing on prohibited firearms.
DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra disclosed this in a Statement in Awka on Saturday.
Ikenga said the breakthrough followed weeks of intensive surveillance by operatives of the Command.
He said a total of 23 automatic pump action guns and 625 live cartridges were recovered in the process.
“So far three suspects have been arrested in Onitsha while investigation is being expanded,” he said.
He said CP Aderemi Adeoye The Commissioner of Police in Anambra commended the operatives involved in the operation.
Adeoye also thanked IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for providing guidance throughout the operation.
