ACTDA Clears Ground For Takeoff Of Ukwu-Orji-Nibo Road Project
The Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has commenced removal of structures and blockades ahead of the construction work on the Ukwu Orji Awka to Umuenechi-Ifite-Nibo-Ishiagu Junction road.
The decongestion was part of the ongoing enforcement of removal of illegal structure and dislodging of street traders in the capital city.
My Ossy Onuko, Managing Director of ACTDA who led the exercise on Wednesday said the exercise was aimed at removing structures erected along designated paths for the smooth takeoff of the project.
The road construction of Ukwu Orji Awka to Umuenechi Village-Ifite-Nibo-Isiagu Junction with 0.6km is expected to spur to zik avenue and 1.5km to spur to Oye Nwoshishi (Distance 5.25km)
Onuko said the inconveniences was part of the sacrifice that had to be made for development to occur and that the value of property that may be lost would be far less than quality of life the progress would usher in.
He enjoined the people to keep supporting the Governor in his determination to to deliver the dividends of democracy.
One of the residents of Nibo Community, Mr Chukwuemeka Nweze commended Soludo for the good work he was doing noting that the road would ease traffic and improve the life of the people when completed.
Nweze pleaded with Soludo to extend the work to Ezeike road to open up the community and create easier access to the state capital.
“Although transformation and development often comes with a price, the aftermath of the completed projects will justify the sacrifice
“On our part, the community will support the governor to succeed in building a livable and prosperous smart mega homeland for all,” he said.
On his part, Mr Ositadimma Chibuzo, said the governor had done marvelously well for remembering the Nibo community.
According to him, it is a nice and welcomed development, hence, since nothing good comes easy, a lot of sacrifices will definitely be made for the road project and other expected transformational development work across the State.
