Ganduje, Uzodimma Present As Sen. Ubah Distributes Empowerment Items To Constituents
Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, member representing Anambra Senatorial District in the National Assembly has distributed empowerment items worth hundreds of millions of naira to members of his constituency.
The items include shuttle buses, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, standing fans and grinding machines among others
Ubah handed overthe empowerment items at the Ifeanyi Ubah stadium, Nnewi/Ozubulu on Saturday.
He was joined by the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje and other party stalwarts.
Ubah said it was time for the state to connect with the national level, adding that Anambra has stayed too long in opposition.
He assured that he would use his influence to ensure that smaller political parties in the state collapse their structures for APC.
Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State while speaking at the event said the party was solidly behind Anambra and that the mammoth crowd present at the stadium was an indication that APC would be victorious in Anambra in the next election.
Nwifuru, who was represented by his deputy governor, Patricia Obila urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment to use the equipment for their own benefit.
On his part, Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, expressed happiness for being part of the programme which was meant to reduce the hardship of the people.
Uzodinma who is the chairman of Southeast governors forum commended President Bola Tinubu for taking the bold steps in removing the fuel subsidy and also unifying the naira,
He said the policies came with hardship which he described as temporary but that the President had commenced distribution of palliatives to states to cushion the effect of the hardship.
“I encourage other leaders to see their political opponents as their brothers during this hard times
“What i have seen in this field today, is as good as a capital project, we have a party that is interested with the welfare of the people, de-imagination of the south-east is now a national project.
“I want to encourage all our leaders to align with the political principles of our great”, he said.
In his speech, APC national chairman, Ganduje said the Southeast was connected on local grid but had to move to national grid as a means of fasttrack development in the region.
He said that the mammoth crowd that turn up for empowerment programme was a symbol that the people has accepted to benefits from the national grid.
