FG Distributes Palliative Rice In Anambra As Women Affairs Minister Urges Patience
The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has urged Nigerians to be patient and support President Bola Tinubu’s administration as he strives to address the nation’s economic challenges.
Kennedy-Ohanenye made the call while distributing the bags of rice released to Anambra State by the President Tinubu-led Administration, in Awka.
The distribution of rice was part of the Federal Government’s efforts to lessen the current hardship being faced by Nigerians.
The palliatives were 5000 bags of 10kg of rice, 500 bags of fertilizer and 300 three kg of gas cylinders.
She said: “President Tinubu meant well for the country through his policies to make life more meaningful for Nigerians.
“I’m appealing that we should be patient with him, In no distant time, his policies will begin to yield results and we will all benefit immensely.
“I’m representing the whole of Anambra at the federal level and I will continue to ensure that our people get their share of what is due to them.
“I solicit your support for us to help President Tinubu to make Nigeria a better country.”
The Minister urged residents to key into the federal government’s social security initiatives to benefit from the schemes.
On his part, Chief Arinze Awogu, National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, a political support group commended the Federal Government for direct distribution of the items to the masses.
Awogu described the minister as a worthy daughter of Anambra and huge asset to the Tinubu’s administration who had the welfare of the masses at heart.
Also speaking, Chief Basil Ejidike, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), in Anambra state, appreciated President Tinubu for assisting the poor and vulnerable in the state.
“President Tinubu has our support and we will work to ensure APC wins come 2025 in Anambra state, “he said.
In her remarks, Mrs Ify Obinabo, Commissioner, Anambra State Ministry for Women and Social Welfare, commended the federal government for improving the welfare of the citizenry.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Emilia Ofor from Umuokpu community in Awka, thanked the federal government for showing concern to the plight of the people, especially the most vulnerable in the state.
