Leaders of Ogbe-Ozoma Quarters made the commendation in a Statement signed by Chief Felix Okafor, Mr Sunday Nwanze, Mr. Lucky Abuah, and Mr Chinedu Ofuani.
They said the IGP acted well by directing the DIG, FCID and the CP Delta State to investigate all criminal infractions committed against them and consolidate all pending petitions against land grabbers.
They said the directive was issued in response to a petition dated Sept 23, 2024, concerning the disturbing acts of compromise by investigative authorities and undue interference with criminal cases in court.
“These issues stem from acts of violent criminal trespass, malicious destruction of property, murder, and other violent infractions committed by one Okeke, aka “Ekwe Ogidi”, the community.
“The IGP has directed, the DIG, FCID, and CP Delta State to decisively investigate all criminal infractions committed against Ogbe-Ozoma and consolidate all pending petitions related to their complaints.
The IGP’s directive responds to the petition, which highlighted the alarming acts of compromise by investigative authorities and the undue interference with criminal cases arising from violent acts committed by Chinedu Okeke and his associates.
“The exhibits recovered from Ogbe-Ozoma ancestral land, included a Caterpillar, Toyota Hilux, live ammunition, and other personal belongings of Ekwe Ogidi, which were handed over to him and his associates.
Charge No. CMA/334c/2024 between Commissioner of Police vs. 1. Adokwe Peter Nonso, 2. Madu Obinna, 3. Chinedu Okeke aka Ekwe Ogidi, and 4. Emeka Okoye was subsequently terminated based on this signal.
