Traders Competition: Nwacho Outshines Men In Ncho Game At Onitsha Centre
Chinwe Nwacho, a female trader of Aluminum Allied Market, Onitsha was the cynosure of all eyes at the in the first round of Ncho game at the Anambra Traders Sports Competition in Onitsha Zone.
Ncho is a traditional seed game played in 12 holes of two columns and six rows. Two individuals take turns to play the game moving in an anti-clockwise direction.
The game was played at Onitsha Country Club, Fegge alongside other sporting events on Friday.
Nwacho won her first round two games, the first against her male opponent, Ifechukwu Anagorom of New Motor Spare Part, Upper-Iweka in two straight defeat and walked over another male player to advance to the next stage.
The player of the day who spoke shortly after her games said the game had become part of life, having over two such board games at home.
“I was elated when I learnt that the sport was selected as one of the five sports to feature in this year’s traders competition.
“Today’s game is the beginning of better things ahead. God will see me through to qualify and represent Onitsha zone in the state finals. I look forward to becoming the state’s champion in the event.
