Activist Wants FG, Security Agencies To Launch Search For Missing Awka-Based Businessman
Comrade Osita Obi has called on the Nigerian security institutions to rescue Mr Benjamin Ezemma, 34, businessman who has been missing since Nov. 24 last year.
Obi made the call at a news conference in Awka on Tuesday.
Ezemma popularly known as BigBen is the Cofounder of Dubai Estate, an Awka based real estate firm.
Obi called on the Police, Department of State Services and Office of the National Security Adviser to deploy every machinery within their reach to rescue abducted persons and apprehend their victims.
“We are here to interrogate the situation and ask questions because government has institutions and a system set up to track crime.
“We were asked to register NIN at a time, government has the capacity to arrest this situation, we demand responsibility and account for every individual that is missing.
“Benjamin, aged 34 years is the cofounder of Dubai Estate, hr was last seen on Nov. 12, 2024, if Benjamin is not found, his abductors should be arrested
“He is not the only one, we have cases of missing guber aspirant since 2021 and a sitting lawmaker since December, we want justice because we do not know who would be involved tomorrow,” he said.
Obi commended the DSS in Anambra for what he described as good intelligence they provided in the investigation of criminal cases.
According to him, we want them to let the matter be brought in the open, government should know that citizens want to know.the matter must not be swept under the carpet.
The Rights activist commended Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for launching the “Udo Ga Achi’ Security Initiative and Agunechemba outfit for tackling the security challenge.
“Agunechemba is a good idea, they have been doing well and I agree that there is room for improvement.
“If it is discovered that hotels and buildings were demolished in error, I will be in the vanguard to ensure that government compensates the owners,” he said.
