ADC Coalition: Group Urges Atiku To Be Statesman, Back Peter Obi Candidacy
The Equity Movement Turn By Turn (EMTBT), a political pressure group, has advised the stakeholders of the coalition to prioritise electoral victory over personal interest.
Chief Gaius Ezeh.
National chairman EMTBT who spoke to journalists in Awka on Saturday said only electoral success would justify the formatting of the coalition.
Ezeh said the ADC coalition should consider the aspirant who enjoyed the acceptance of the greater majority of Nigerians as such a candidate would win the highest number of votes for the ticket.
He said that the coalition would have failed itself and Nigerians if it lost the election warning that the mistake of 2023 when pursuit of individual interests robbed them of victory should be avoided.
“We cannot afford to fail again, we must be able to diminish our individual interests and project fully the collective interests of the coalition which is also the interest of Nigerian people.
“Our arrowheads for the presidency of Nigeria are all good leaders but what we need for this battle is not just good leaders, we need the best,” he said.
Ezeh urged Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to support the candidacy of Peter Obi who he said would attract the largest number of votes for the coalition.
He commended Atiku for his wisdom, political tenacity and nationalist mindset
He said he had met Atiku Abubakar, and visited his Wife, Titi Abubakar in company of Princess Stella, her Special Assistant and could confirm was a good man.
“Rescuing and salvaging Nigeria is the main purpose of forming the coalition, so let us do the right thing this time, unless we want APC to come back in 2027.
“Sir, please support Mr Peter Obi in the overall interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.
“This singular act of patriotism is an opportunity to cast your name on the marble,” he said.
