ADC Suspends All Congress In Anambra State
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Anambra Chapter has suspended all congresses in the state till further notice.
The party said this in a Statement signed by Mr Patrick Obianyo and Mr Lawrence Okeke, chairman and Secretary respectively in Awka on Wednesday.
The party said the decision was to underscore its commitment to the rule of law, due process, and respect for judicial authority.
The party directed all members and stakeholders to remain calm, law-abiding, and peaceful throughout this period.
It said the new dates for congresses and conventions would be communicated at the conclusion of ongoing national consultations and meetings.
“The ADC, Anambra Chapter under the leadership of Comrade Patrick Obianyo hereby announces the immediate suspension of all planned and proposed congresses across the state, until further notice,” it said.
The Obianyo led ADC committee said remained valid while urging the Independent National Electoral Commission and the general public to disregard any directives, announcements, or actions from other sources
