Anambra Community Demands Valid Land Acquisition Documents From Housing Corporation
Umuneri Village Assembly, Isu – Aniocha,Youth wing has documents showing valid acquisition agreement that 118 plots of their communal lands was properly acquired by the Housing Development Corporation(AHDC) Awka.
The demand was sequel to lingering crisis between the Umuneri Village the AHDC.
Chairman, Mr Uchenna Eziamaka of the village youth wing said the youths were over the incessant harassment of their parents by thugs and security agents from Housing Corporation, and have decided to resolve the crisis once and for all.
Eziamaka who spoke to newsmen in Awka said AHDC should prove their claim that the 118 plots of land was validly acquired by presenting the documents of agreement it entered with their elders and compensation paid 2014/2015 as they claimed
The youth said they would hands off the land if the management of the corporation produce such valid documents adding that they in turn help the government to police the land.
They appealed to Gov. Willie Obiano to wade in and and help resolve the crisis and ensure there was no break down of law and order in Umuneri Village Isu-Aniocha as he did with the Community Secondary school Isu- Aniocha land.
The youth warned that failure to produce the document in two weeks would compel them to join forces with their leadership and elders to fight encroachers of their communal land with whatever was available to them.
According to the youth, Umuneri Village Isu-Aniocha youths will not tolerate further intimidation and harassment of their people over the land as the village has no boundaries with Ezinano Village Awka.
“It is preposterous for their land to host Green Valley Housing Estate Awka, rather than Isu- Aniocha,” they said.
They warned people going into transaction on the affected land to steer clear as any structure effected there would be brought down if the issues were not resolved.
