Anambra FA Elections: Iloeyonsi Protests Opponent’s Eligibility
Iloenyosi, Chairmanship candidate in the Oct. 30 election into the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) has petitioned against the candidature of his sole opponent, Emeka Okeke.
Iloenyosi who appeared before the ANSFA 2020 Elections Appeals Committee at the Udoka office of the association in Awka on Monday said he was contesting Okeke’s eligibility on four grounds.
He said Okeke should not contest because he was the chairman of the Caretaker Committee set up by the Nigeria Football Federation to supervised the election and that the mandate did not include that he should he should not resign and contest.
Chikelue also claimed that Okeke was a NFF approved intermediary and also is a chairman of a football club in Anambra.
He also said that he had it on good a authority that his opponent procured forms for some of the delegates in the election.
He said he had tendered variable documentary evidences to back up his claim and expressed confidence that the Appeals Committee would consider their merits and act in line with the spirit of NFF statute on the issues raised.
Okeke who also appeared before the committee refused to speak on his interaction with them.
He however urged all to help uplift the wellbeing of youths in the country.
Chijioke Onyedika, Chairman of the Caretaker Committee who spoke on behalf of the Appeals Committee said the committee would not speak on the process adding that the result of the appeals would be made public in due course.
