Anambra Guber,: APC Support Group Set To Endorse Ukachukwu Ahead of Primaries
Ikemba Front, the frontline political support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to adopt Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu as its preferred candidate for Nov. 8 governorship election in Anambra in coming days as the party prepares for its primary election.
Elder Jonny Oraefo, the National Adviser of Ikemba Front said the group will adopt a candidate before the primaries so as to ensure that the right person was given the ticket of the APC for the November Guber poll.
Oraefo who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Elders Council of Ikemba Front, the highest decision making organ group disclosed this on Sunday in his base in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States.
He said he, alongside and Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front had committed themselves from day one to ensuring that late Senator Patrick Ifeanyichukwu Ubah, CON, would be the next Governor but for his sudden demise.
The Nnewi born former Biafran Commander said, “the time is now for those of us who were very close to our late Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to put our heads together and make sure that we deliver his dreams and aspirations
“This is not a situation whereby unwanted and self-seeking individuals can camouflage themselves with lies and propaganda, rather, this is a call for us to make things happen, period.
“It is now quite obvious that the only man/person who has the capacity to fill the late Senator’s shoes is no other person than Prince Dr Nicholas Chukwujekwu Ukachukwu.
“There are no sentiments and or gain saying about this, rather, the confirmation came from above, God the almighty,” he said.
Oraefo called on members of APC to put aside all the doubts and fears that could easily rob them of the rare opportunity and put their heads and thoughts together to send Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma) to Anambra Government House, Awka on Nov. 8.
Sources from Ikemba Front said Oraefo, who is due for Nigeria would be present at the historic event where the formal adoption would be made.
The source said the ceremony would take place at the National Headquarters of Ikemba Front in Awka, capital of Anambra State.
Recall that Elder Jonny Oraefo, a veteran of the Nigerian Civil War was instrumental to the resuscitation of Ikemba Front wherein he hosted the National Coordinator, Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2023.
That was where the idea of relaun
ching Ikemba Front was muted.
