Anambra Guber: I’m In Race To Win —Nwosu
Mr John Nwosu, an aspirant in the Anambra governorship election has said he did not enter into any negotiation or consultation with anybody or group with the intent of dropping his ambition.
Nwosu, a top contender for the Labour Party ticket in who said this in a Statement in Awka on Friday said he was in the race to win.
He dismissed the insinuation that he had stepped down as cheap propaganda were afraid to subject themselves to due process and democratic party primary.
He said it was unfathomable that some people could attempt to convince our party faithful that people who had not contributed to promoting the Party or market themselves to would-be delegates to the Primary should be considered for nomination.
From the very onset, as a card-carrying member of LP and active participant and supporter in the 2023 presidential and general elections,
Nwosu said he would not be distracted by those who wish to use propaganda or media ploys to gain undue advantage over him who was the most visible and hardworking aspirant at the grassroots of the party in Anambra.
“I have met with LP state, local government and officials for a record four times in their respective places of abode in an effort to revitalise and consolidate the party structures in Anambra.
“For the record, I John Chuma Nwosu, an aspirant for the governorship of Anambra under the Labour Party, is in the race to win the primary election and go on to win the governorship election on Nov. 8, 2025, that is my mission.
“I have invested massively in the race and for the long haul,” he said.
Nwosu said he was focused on rescuing Anambra from bad governance and pervasive insecurity saying that the mission could not be traded for purported negotiation with ‘anyone or group whatsoever and however’.
He said his mission was to rebuild the State LP party structure ahead of the 2025 elections.
“I believe in the efficacy of the party constitution and the rule of law, these are the basis for determining who will emerge as the party flag bearer after the statutory party delegates would have done so in a credible, free and fair governorship primary election.
“To those who think they can heist the Governorship ticket by other means; I can only say, let us meet on the field,” he said.
