Anambra Guber: We Need A God-Fearing Leader, Onyemelukwe Says
Mrs Chidi Onyemelukwe, a governorship aspirant in the Nov. 6 election in Anambra has called on the electorate to vote a leader who will govern with the fear of God.
Onyemelukue who is contesting for the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) made the call while addressing party faithful and stakeholders in Nnewi on Monday.
Onyemelukwe who is the daughter of Dr Alex Ekwueme, former Nigerian vice president said she joined the race with the passion to impact lives positively.
Onyemelukwe was the deputy governorship candidate of PDP to Mr Oseloka Obaze in the 2017 election in Anambra.
She said though all the aspirants presenting themselves for consideration under the platform of the PDP were eminently qualified to govern Anambra, there was need to nominate a flag bearer who would see the opportunity to serve God and humanity.
According to her, I am prepared, I have the exposure, the requisite street and administrative experience to drive this broad vision of restoring Anambra on the right path to greatness.
“Four years ago, in 2017, I was considered suitable to co-fly the ticket of our great party, having met the requisite educational training, exposure and experience in government at the national and state levels.
“My sole motive is to provide selfless service of good governance to Ndi Anambra while upholding the tenets of the founding fathers of our party, God being my helper,” she said.
Onyemelukwe said she was a promoter of excellent and qualitative education with passion for the advancement of the society through education and creation of economic opportunities.
She was a Special Assistant to the President on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) and also served as the Chairman, Board of Directors, Federal Housing Authority.
She is a maiden of Oko in Orumba North Local Government Area and married to Dr Okey Onyemelukwe from Nnewi, Nnewi local government area all in Anambra South senatorial district.
