Anambra Police Command Denies Declaring Persons Wanted
The Police Command In Anambra says it has not declared anybody or set of people (names withheld) wanted in the state.
Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer in the Anambra said this while reacting to images of some people purportedly declared wanted by the command being circulated in the social media
Ikenga said he had no knowledge of the graphics which were sent online on Monday night.
He said there was one command with a clear chain of command under the CP adding that the information was not only misleading but embarrassing.
He said there was procedure for declaring people wanted including obtaining court order and interaction with the media none of which was observed.
The PPRO said security issues were sensitive and only the Police Commissioner managed them through the office of the PPRO.
He further said that the phone numbers provided in the graphics were neither his own nor those of the Command’s Emergency numbers.
He said the command was in control of the situation and would issue information as appropriate and in due time.
The PPRO assured residents of Anambra to remain calm, security conscious and continue to provide valuable information to aid the operations of the Command.
