Assailants Attack Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah Convoy, Kill 10 As Soludo React

The convoy of Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, a businessman and politician, was Sunday attacked by yet to be identified assailants.
The fatal attack which happened at Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu market on the old Enugu-Onitsha expressway resulted in the death of no fewer than nine persons.
Ubah, who is the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, however escaped the assassination attempt unscathed.
The victims included two personal aides of Ubah, six mobile police personnel and a driver.
The deceased aides were Mr Ikechukwu Odum, his Personal Treasurer, and Mr Goodness Mathias, his Personal Assistant
A prominent Chief of Enugwu-Ukwu community who was not in the convoy but close to the vicinity also got hit by bullets and died instantly.
The Police command in Anambra has confirmed the incident.
Meanwhile condemnation have trailed the dastardly attacks from well meaning Nigerians.
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, who condemned the attack, said the government was determined to wipe out every act of criminality in the State.
Soludo in a Statement signed by Mr Christian Aburime, his press secretary described it as “this is the last ditch-effort of a sinking boat” by these criminal elements
He said all security agencies were on full alert to fish out the perpetrators of this heinous attack, who will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
Soludo commiserate with Ubah and families of his aides who lost their lives as well as the State Commissioner of Police, for the Policemen who also lost their lives
