CVR: Update Your Status, Don’t Disenfranchise Yourself—-Nonye Soludo Tells Voters
Dr Nonye Soludo, wife of the governor of Anambra State has called on the people of the state to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and update their registrations and be eligible to vote in the Nov. 8 governorship election.
Soludo made the call following the commencement of CVR exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday.
The CVR will run from July 8 to July 17, between 9:00am to 3:00pm and including weekends.
CVR is open to those who wish to obtain a new PVC, those who changed their places of residence, those who misplaced or damaged their PVCs and those who were yet to collect their cards from previous registrations.
She appealed to Anambra people who are up to the voting age of 18 across the 326 political wards in the state to go to the designated centres to update their statues.
Soludo voter registration exercise, was a critical step for all eligible voters to secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“INEC has just officially kicked off the much-awaited Continuous Voter Registration for all voting categories in Anambra State.
“Let us seize this “great window” to register, update, or retrieve their voting credentials, it is your right and your responsibility.
“Do not let this opportunity pass you by, if you are currently staying in Anambra State and fall within the voting age, ensure you are not left behind.
“Possessing a PVC is the only legitimate way citizens can express their political will and influence the leadership of the state.
“It is only with your PVC that you can translate that voice into real action, so do not disenfranchise yourself,” she said.
Soludo prayed that Anambra would continue while urging youths and first-time voters to ensure they vote in the gubernatorial election.
