Don’t Dump PDP, BoT chair begs Southeast Stalwarts
Sen. Walid Jibril, the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has called on members of the party in South East geopolitical zone to shun the plans to defect to other party.
Jubril made the appeal while speaking Awka at a reception organised by PDP, Anambra Central Senatorial District Party Executive for Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, Chairman of the party in Anambra.
He said their remaining in the PDP was crucial to the party’s victory in Anambra gubernatorial election in 2021 its victory at the 2023 general elections.
According to him, unity in the party is important for the PDP to dislodge the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra state and move to recapture the federal government from the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He said political leaders from the geopolitical zone must work together in order to achieve the desired result adding that the outcome of Anambra election would go a long way to determining the future of the political fortune of the people of the area in Nigeria political structure
“Please, don’t leave PDP , don’t decamp to any political party. PDP is not against the Igbo nation, PDP loves every tribe.
“All we want is unity, we must win the Anambra 2021 governorship election and in 2023, PDP shall takeover the federal government again and do everything possible to keep Nigeria one,” he said.
On his part, Prince Uche Secondus, national chairman of PDP lauded the unity in Anambra chapter of the party and applauded the Nwobu state led executive for the success achieved under recalled that whenfor the success achieved under leadership.
Secondus who was represented by Sunday Udeh-Okoye, the National Youth Leader the party said economy was better under the PDP government than now and urged Anambra people on unity ahead of coming elections.
Mr Chukwuka Onyema, member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives said the occasion was aimed at celebrating what he termed hardworking executive Chairman of the party in Anambra.
Onyema said the victory of PDP Anambra chapter in the 2019 election was an eloquent testimony of the success story.
In his remark, Nwobu, thanked PDP faithful for helping him and his team succeed while expressing hope that with their continued support PDP would emerge victorious on Anambra 2021 poll,
