Egwuonwu Condoles With Ihiala Over Assassinations, Fire Incidents
Akai Egwuonwu, Managing Director of Stine Industry, producers of Anambra Rice, has sent his condolences to the people of Ihiala over the tragic killing of no fewer than seven persons and fire destruction of Nkwo-Ogbe market on Monday.
Egwuonwu, a top aspirant for Anambra South Senatorial bye-election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in his message, described the twin tragedy as shocking and disheartening.
He said Ihiala was a strategic Local Government Area in Anambra South which did not deserve such heinous treatment from non-state actors.
Egwuonwu called for a critical evaluation of the security situation in the state with a view to restoring normalcy.
“Both incidents led to the loss of lives and loss of means of livelihood, and it is regrettable.
“I pray that God will strengthen the people and urge good spirited people of Anambra South to see ways to assist affected business owners to get back on their feet.
“Small and medium enterprise are an important player in the business community and those affected by the unfortunate fire outbreak at Nkwo Ogbe fall under this category,” he said.
Egwuonwu said the events should strengthened the resolve and dedication of the people and not dampen t
heir great spirit.
