Empower Azuka’s Widow, Don’t Drag Her Into Needless Contest —Obigwe Tells Sen. Nwoye
Mr Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors has berated Sen. Nwoye for dragging Mrs Justina Azuka, wife of Justice Azuka, slain lawmaker representing Onitsha 1 State Constituency into the Aug. 16 by-election.
Obigwe, a chieftain of APGA who said this on Saturday called on Nwoye to stop playing politics with his unfortunate and regrettable death regretting that she yielded to his antics.
Justice Azuka was abducted in Onitsha on Dec. 24, 2024 and was later found lifeless on Feb. 6 this year.
Obigwe said Mrs Azuka should be mourning the unfortunate demise of her husband and looking after their children but regretted that she abdicated that responsibility to chase shadows in the guise of contesting the by-election.
“In all honesty, the late Justice Azuka will be turning in his grave that his wife allowed Sen. Tony Nwoye to brainwash her into joining the murky waters of politics.
“The truth is that they are not helping Justina Azuka, rather they are destroying her and committing the sacrilege of making the woman not focus her attention in taking care of their kids.
“If those pushing Justina Azuka to contest the Aug. 16 bye election care about her welfare and her children that they will raise between N50 million to 100million naira and give to her to go into any business of her choice.
“This will empower her for life and put her in a position that she will be able to look after herself and that of her children.
“Using the unfortunate death of Azuka to play sympathy politics is a sacrilegious sin on the part of Nwoye, Emeka and other of their cohorts,” he said.
Obigwe said it was possible that the Senator and his cohorts would spend as much as N100 million to N200 million in their desperate bid to win the Aug. 16 bye election for Onitsha North 1 constituency but advised them to give her the money because she would not win.
He cited the example of the wife of late Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah who refused the contest for replacement of her husband in spite the appeal by reputable members of the Senate in order to concentrate on taking care of their children.
“Justina Azuka should have done the same thing instead of allowing herself to be dragged up and down in the name of politics.
“They should stop dragging her around in the name of politics and allow her to live up to the expectations of her late husband in the person of Justice Azuka,” he said.
